Will our real sofa please stand up ...

The delivery of our sofa was due in January 2010.
It came but didn't fit through the staircase although we we were assured it would by both the saleswoman & the delivery company, after we gave them the measurements of
The smaller size sofa (88 inches) came in May, to our surprise it was both stained and shabby with it's under filled seat cushions and back pillows, the staples sticking out from underneath, and the crooked seams; the replacement was due in July (2011).

July came and went the sofa never did, once again not a company we can depend on.
The new date was now sometime in August, it's October 1st; I'm writing this because you can bet this date didn't pan out either.

New arrival date was September 24th as usual something has come up, the movers called and claimed they unwrapped the sofa to find a large stain on it,
and that wanted to know if we still wanted the sofa ( why the would we?), we said no! The delivery company said they would have restoration hardware call us, that too is still pending and shabby is still here, no it's not chic...

this link should go to those previously posted on our sofa nonsense but it seems there is plenty of the same silliness when I use blogger with my Safari, that or something is broken.

Day after mean Irene

We were fortunate to have had our power restored, it was but a  short 2 hours,
many still go without electricity and running water in areas,
We  were also most fortunate still to not have see the sugar maple
which towers above our home come down upon us.

An uprooted Northern Catalpa as seen on Larch down to Kenrick.

I think this tree may of had a vine attached to it,  either a Wisteria or
Oriental bittersweet.  Either would add weight

A street Aspen (of course not a Norway maple)

This city tree had been cemented right over, that seems odd.

There was not one Red-wing black bird song to be heard.
Their song has been the hallmark of the pond as far back as I can remember
I doubt it's due to Irene ~ my feeder had all the usual visitors today.

Lets give thanks and credit to the USDA & their incessant poisoning of the Red-winged Black bird and many other bird species, thanks for protecting us from the damaging birds.

Dan Shaughnessy is a Globe columnist. and he asked this of the 23 year rookie Marchand;

"How could he possibly know what this moment is like for longtime Bruins fans?
How could any of the champion Bruins know?"

They may know because they played their little hearts out and they WON it!
Not like Canadians as an Atlantic article puffed about, rather just like the Bruins.

the Bruins flew were suppose to fly  into Hanscom , ( they thought they'd lose me thinks) but the did not, they flew into Logan as they did back in 1972 and this fan was there... Do you want to see my B patch :D

The cheers last night reached up into our second floor living room spilling in, from the streets of Boston; I especially liked the guy that chanted Go Bruins, go Bruins, in a very tired but enthusiastic tune and they had already won... we're so proud of our B's.

It's be nice if the analysts, columnists, & wanna bees didn't try to steal the thunder.

Ah screw em.

Well predicated Pengy!
