Bramble of Sparrows

Bramble of Sparrows

They rest between their flits back and fro from the feeder, the lil' cuties braving the wind and heavy snow.

He/she has an issue with the birds and not with the trash we generate, it amazes me just how selfish & stupid people can be.

"For a few hours on the night of Dec. 20 to Dec. 21, the attention of tens of millions of people will be drawn skyward, where the mottled, coppery globe of our moon will hang completely immersed in the long, tapering cone of shadow cast out into space by our Earth. If the weather is clear, favorably placed skywatchers will have a view of one of nature's most beautiful spectacles: a total eclipse of the   moon."

A little fella or filly finds a Peanut, bringing it up to the nest ( thank goodness no longer in our soffit)
With any luck the nests they've built in the sugar maple will stand the test of man.

In the dead of winter this bough was oncea heaven that afforded the sunlight for this Squirrel to sleep and warm it's little bones on, it sadly for the Squirrels, no longer exists. Reckless cuts.

Sleepy in the tree....

Oak Square's YMCA

Once upon a time in Oak Square, in October of 1943 to be exact,  Smith's Market  stood at this very location.

A gas station followed, and was razed for the YMCA.

I wish I could go back, just for a day and photograph everything  my eyes desired, share it with you, wouldn't that be wonderful ! ?

Oh I think it would be grand to walk the streets of an earlier time in space.

Walk on dirty instead of concrete, less people, less cars, more space.

I'm so very appreciative of the archives from the Brighton Allston Historical Society, it would be great to have had a couple more perspectives, the image in the link is facing west to Washington St.,  one of the roads to Newton Watertown,  and the Mass. Pike,  which  was not yet craved out in 1943,

it was perhaps a thought in a mind or two.

I'm not a spring chicken by any means, still,  I must keep in mind that the Cameras of 1943 weren't wasn't as easy peasy as todays cameras.

The digital age makes it so inexpensive to shoot to one's heart's content, this I'm extremely grateful !

Butterlicious

I've a lively sweet tooth, I love cake and especially cupcakes, the yummy little individual cakes most of us {all?} love.
My very kind & generous room mate brought 2 Cannoli, 2 double Chocolate with Chocolate Covered Bacon, yeas you read that correctly, Double Chocolate with Chocolate Covered Bacon, and a couple of Red Velvet Sexiness, ( my fave) mmm yummy !

The little cakes came from the new the Cherry Bomb Bakery a new bakery in the neighbourhood as they say "Creative Cakery of Clever Design" they are.

Give it a try, they're  extremely delicious cupcakes, smothered with butterlicious frosting, wonderfully scrumptious, and unique, bacon & chocolate
I've not heard of that combo before, perhaps I don't get out much.

Btw their cranberry scones are also very good.

Find them @ 379 Washington St, Brighton Center, Brighton MA.
Next time, ( we're watching our weight & cholesterol, sadly next time won't be too soon.
I'm going for the black pepper cupcakes, they sound interesting ..
